People crack me up….

February 27, 2008

Saidah: “I don’t know any gymnasts or dancers who aren’t permanently ‘injured’”

Susie: “Well, it depends on whether you were like, ‘hardcore’ and put lots of time into it. Some people aren’t that intense.”

Saidah: “Well, those people aren’t really gymnast. They jut ‘did’ gymnastics. They’re recreational athletes.”

Susie: “That’s kind of elitist.”

Saidah: “Well, it’s true!”

Susie: “I mean, I can do this…”

does front-walkover

Susie: “Does that mean I’m not a gymnast?”

Saidah: “Yah, that just means you’re talented. Just because you’re good at it, doesn’t mean you’re a gymnast.”

Susie: “I’m offended.”

Saidah: (shrugs) “Sorry.”

*I love that I really don’t mind offending people.

Thoughts For The Day

February 27, 2008

But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
Psalm 13:5 NLT

Eric Hoffer:The remarkable thing is that we really love our neighbor as ourselves: we do unto others as we do unto ourselves. We hate others when we hate ourselves. We are tolerant toward others when we tolerate ourselves. We forgive others when we forgive ourselves. We are prone to sacrifice others when we are ready to sacrifice ourselves.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a Child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. In not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our light shine, We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

This is 5AM at Starbucks…

February 27, 2008

I know. It’s a hard-knock life for the poor girl who sits at Starbucks for HOURS every day. Tragic for me, huh?

Psalms 107-150

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.

2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say this—
those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,

3 those he gathered from the lands,
from east and west, from north and south. [a]

4 Some wandered in desert wastelands,
finding no way to a city where they could settle.

5 They were hungry and thirsty,
and their lives ebbed away.

6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.

7 He led them by a straight way
to a city where they could settle.

8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for men,

I really….
